Today we enjoyed one of our very first team-building activities together: a visit to the exhibition “Amazonias. El futuro ancestral” at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB). Before setting foot together in the forests of the Bolivian Amazon, we decided to embark on a different kind of expedition, one that brought us closer to the cultures, voices, and perspectives that shape the region we work in.
The exhibition invites visitors to explore the immense ecological and cultural richness of the Amazon through art, photography, installations, soundscapes, and stories from across the region. Importantly, it foregrounds the voices of Indigenous artists, thinkers, and activists who offer alternative ways of understanding and relating to the forest and its many beings.
For our team, this visit became a meaningful starting point: a shared moment of reflection about the responsibility that comes with studying and working in Amazonian Indigenous territories. It was a beautiful way to begin our journey together: learning from the voices, creativity, and resilience of the peoples who call the Amazon home.
