Solidaridad Médica is a Spanish NGO that provides health care to the communities along the Maniqui River. For more than 20 years, the medical team has improved access to health care and the quality of life for the Tsimane’ people, thanks primarily to three initiatives. These are: training community health promoters, providing care at their main health clinic, and organizing medical brigades, in which they travel from community to community conducting medical checkups for everyone, particularly children.
On numerous occasions, Solidaridad Médica has granted us access to its facilities. We are especially grateful to them for allowing us to present our traveling photo exhibition “Cultura Viva: Knowledge of the Amazon in Images” at the Misión Fátima health clinic. In addition, they gave us the opportunity to create our beautiful “Mural of the Future” at the health post of one of our partner communities upstream. Thank you so much for your support and your work with the Tsimane’ people!
