Elías Hiza Nate is a Tsimane’ translator and co-researcher at the Centro Boliviano de Investigación y Desarrollo Socio Integral (CBIDSI), where he has worked since 2017. He has participated continuously in research projects each year from 2017 to 2026, including fieldwork in the Beni Biosphere Reserve in 2023. His main contributions include conducting interviews and transcribing and translating traditional songs into Spanish. He graduated from Unidad Educativa Tacuaral del Mato in 2016 and speaks both Tsimane’ and Spanish. Outside his research work, Elías enjoys music and singing, including both Christian and traditional Tsimane’ songs. He also enjoys exploring new places and forests, hairdressing, cooking over a wood fire, and hunting and fishing.
